THE MIND RUNS US.....
My experience, the mind runs me.. My mind tells me what to do and what not to do, where to go and where not to go all out of fear. My mind fears the future and fears the past. My mind keeps me bouncing between thoughts of the past and the future never allowing me to just BE HERE in peace.
MY MIND IS NOT WHO I REALY AM...
My mind is a construct - "built" from past experiences learned from observing family, friends, TV, media the world etc. The mind is not who I really am, I am not my past experiences and I am not my fears of the future, I am LIFE.
I DON'T NEED MY MIND...
If all of my past experiences where "whipped" away what would be left......ME HERE AS LIFE, no judgments, no fears, no anxieties, no doubts, no worries etc. - Just me experiencing life as it is without these ideas and labels attached to everything.If we could all drop our minds the world would be a better place. If we where all free from judgments therefor not labeling each other as this or that then there would be no conflict because with our judgment free eyes we would just see other beings. WITHOUT THE MIND..
I wouldn't experience life as I think I should because I would have no past thoughts and ideas running me - but I would expierence life as I want to. Without the mind I would be who I really am as my unique expression of LIFE.
THE PROCESS OF "LOOSING MY MIND" & BREATHING
I am in the process of "loosing my mind" no pun intended.I am using my breath to stay focused in the HERE -- HERE is not the past or the future, meaning HERE is not the mind. When you are HERE you are free of thoughts, therefore not influenced by your past experiences. In the HERE it is you as who you really are. Now this is much easier typed then actually done. The mind is so automatic that I will be HERE-focused on my breath and the next thing I know I am in thoughts again planning what to eat next, thinking if I should cut my hair, thinking about a past conversation with a co-worker, fearing death from a falling rock as I pass the "WATCH for FALLING ROCKS" sign on the highway etc.. you name it I've thought it. My mind is like a Television with the channel button on the remote duct taped down.
CHANGES OCCURING..
As I have been doing the practice of watching my thoughts and staying focused on my breath in my everyday life I have been noticing my thoughts lessening gradually. What a relief
No longer will I accept and allow myself to be a slave to the mind - I do not need my mind to exist - I am taking self-responsibility to discover who I really am beyond this preprogrammed mind!
